  • This 40,000 square foot art gallery and upscale retail started as a 1960’s “Butler” building that was used as a movie theatre. It is now cited as a multiple award winner for one of the most creative and innovative examples of “adaptive reuse” in the southeast.
  • Completed: 1996
  • Architect: Byrd and Cooper Architects
  • Contractors: Partners Development

This building was a 1960’s vintage movie theater, but Ron and I saw something in the place that only he could help me transform. Although I’ve been a personal friend of his for many years, I hadn’t owned a project in which he was involved; thus, I was a little concerned about mixing business and friendship.

I shouldn’t have been. I was completely satisfied with the way in which he and his staff approach a project like this: highly organized, but very creative; completely thorough, yet economical and concise; and fully aware of schedules and deadlines.

I now have a magnificent structure in which to conduct by business…and a deeper appreciation for the way in which Ron Watkins and Partners Development do their business.
