Knoxville Museum of Art

Knoxville, Tennessee

  • Knoxville Museum of Art
  • The Knoxville Museum of Art opened in March 1990 in a state of the art 53,200 facility designed by renowned museum architect Edward Larabee Barnes. The KMA's lively and engaging schedule of exhibits emphasizes emerging artists of national and international reputations, significant regional artists present and past, and fine crafts.
  • Completed: 1990
  • Architect: Edward Larabee Barnes
  • Contractor: Blaine Hayes Construction

In its initial concept, the Knoxville Museum of Art was envisioned as a place where all who entered could experience the visual arts in a state-of-the-art environment.

As Project Manager for the facility, Partners Development broadened our vision and encouraged us to seek an even greater potential for the building.

Working with the architect and contractor, Partners Development created a facility which offers so much more: world-class exhibition spaces for the visual arts, an intimate performance hall with regularly scheduled concerts, educations venues for area children, and conference spaces for corporate meetings and presentations.

Because of the experience and insights of Partners Development during the planning and development stages, KMA is now a facility that has become known for a multiplicity of the arts and has attracted a much broader cross section of the general public than originally anticipated.
